This beautifully considered kitchen in Buckerell, near Honiton, combines timeless Shaker styling with a rich Heritage Green painted finish and warm natural details.
Designed by Sarah Hale at AP Interiors, the kitchen was carefully planned around the character of the property and its existing services, with bespoke cabinetry used to make the most of the available space while creating a practical and cohesive finished design.
A Bespoke Kitchen Designed Around the Property
This project required more than simply selecting cabinetry to fit the room. The existing property presented several areas where standard kitchen furniture alone wouldn't provide the right solution.
Sarah's design combines Stori Aldana slim Shaker cabinetry, painted in Heritage Green, with bespoke elements carefully designed around the existing services and features of the property.
The result is a kitchen that retains the character of the home while providing the storage, appliances and practical features expected from a modern fitted kitchen.
From Design to Installation
A successful kitchen relies on the design and installation working together. Bespoke Cabinetry for a Challenging Space
One of the defining features of this Buckerell kitchen was the bespoke work required to accommodate the property's existing services.
Rather than allowing pipework and other practical requirements to compromise the overall design, cabinetry was carefully adapted and purpose-made to work around them. Shallow-depth units and individually considered internal details allowed otherwise difficult areas to become useful parts of the kitchen.
The Torro Cremona Oak cabinet interiors provide a warm contrast to the Heritage Green doors, while the bespoke detailing demonstrates how a carefully designed kitchen can respond to the individual characteristics of an existing property.
Integrated Appliances & Storage
Practical Storage Built Into the Design
Practicality was considered throughout the kitchen, with integrated appliances and storage helping maintain the clean appearance of the Shaker cabinetry.
The design incorporates Neff N50 integrated refrigeration and dishwashing, a Caple Atara black chimney hood, an integrated 64-litre twin-bin system and dedicated cutlery storage.
These elements are incorporated discreetly into the cabinetry so that functionality doesn't dominate the overall appearance of the room.
