Kitchen Stori Marine Blue Kitchen in Exeter
Project Overview
This Exeter kitchen was designed to create a welcoming and practical space with plenty of character. The deep Marine Blue cabinetry provides a strong, timeless colour, while the solid oak full-stave worktops introduce warmth and natural texture to the design.
Careful attention was given to the layout, storage and everyday usability of the kitchen, with the cabinetry, worktops and appliances brought together to create a cohesive finished space.
Designed by Matt Yates at AP Interiors and professionally installed by Lee Mallen, the project is a great example of how rich painted cabinetry and natural timber can work together to create a kitchen with both style and personality.

Marine Blue Cabinetry & Solid Oak Worktops
Marine Blue gives the cabinetry depth without overwhelming the room, while the solid oak full-stave worktops introduce a natural element that softens the darker painted finish.
The combination of blue and oak is particularly effective in this kitchen, creating a warm and timeless appearance that works comfortably with both traditional and contemporary features.
Appliances & Practical Features
The appliances and practical details were carefully incorporated into the design to maintain the clean appearance of the kitchen while making the space straightforward to use every day.
The kitchen includes:
-
NEFF appliances integrated into the overall design
-
Quooker boiling-water tap for convenient instant boiling water
-
Practical storage positioned around the main preparation and cooking areas
-
Carefully planned appliance locations to maintain an efficient kitchen layout
-
A combination of concealed storage and accessible everyday space
The appliances complement the Marine Blue cabinetry and solid oak worktops without dominating the overall design, allowing the materials and colour palette to remain the main feature of the room.

Good installation is an important part of any kitchen project, particularly where natural materials such as solid oak worktops require careful fitting and finishing. The completed installation gives this Exeter kitchen the quality of finish intended from the original design.
